Short and Sweet!

We have Music Makers in the morning so I'm going to make this short and sweet.....Valentine's Day....nothing major to report.  Just a low-key day with the kids making Valentine's cards and decorating cookies over at Grandma's house.  No pictures because I really did just enjoy the day with them :)  And then Tim and I went out and had dinner at our favorite Sushi restaurant (thanks Bri Bri for watching the kids - love you)!

Wow, that really was short!  Sorry, I have to get to bed...

I'll end with one of the kids' favorite songs from Music Makers this month...

Skidamarink a dink a dink,

Skidamarink a doo,

I love you.

Skidamarink a dink a dink,

Skidamarink a doo,

I love you.

I love you in the morning

And in the afternoon,

I love you in the evening

And underneath the moon;
(sorry, had to sneak one of me and my Valentine in ;)

Skidamarink a dink a dink,

Skidamarink a doo,

I....

LOOOVE....

YOOUUU!!!

"Unplugged"

Some people read the paper every morning or watch the news.  Others subscribe to magazines and listen to talk radio.  I read blogs!  Tim says I stalk blogs, but I beg to differ.  Following a few blogs is that thing I do for myself...it's that little bit of quiet time that just makes me feel re-energized.  I know that probably sounds weird, but being a stay at home mom to triplets (or any number of children at whatever age, I suppose) can be somewhat isolating.  It's easy to get in a "funk"...but blogs make me feel "connected."  So I follow fellow triplet mom blogs, other mom blogs that I find inspiring either because of their pictures or their words and views on life.  I follow photography blogs, and I have recently begun stalking (I can fully admit it) the Matilda Jane Clothing website, blog, AND facebook page!  I don't really comment on the page, I just like to read comments of other stalkers...I am basically stalking the stalkers (I know, I realize it's getting a little out of control).

The point of all this is....I can spend a lot of time reading blogs and just being online in general. I'm embarrassed to admit the amount of time some days are spent on the computer.  The computer room has become known as the "black hole."  And random, but there was a day in December when I was sitting at the computer doing whatever when I heard the kids in the other room singing "Oh Christmas tree...oh Christmas tree....." and I thought it was SO CUTE that I never wanted to forget it.  And then my thoughts came to screeching halt!!!  Really???  I never wanted to forget the sound of my babies singing a christmas song in the other room, while I sit staring at the computer screen???  NO!  I want to remember their cute little voices and their sweet faces....I want to be looking into their eyes and singing with them.  I want my memories to be with them...not hearing them while I'm on the computer in the other room.  I want to be more "present" with them every day.  So while I'll still be taking a little time for me during the day to have some peace and quiet or read up on a few blogs (trust me, having a little "me" time IS for the safety of in the best interest of my children), I want to become a little more "unplugged" this year.  Unplugged from the computer, that is...so that I can become more plugged into my kids.

I don't want to miss moments like these....

Or these....

Or these (even if it is blurry).....

I don't always succeed...I still spend too much time on the computer.  But I'm also spending more time with the kids.  They're turning into little people right before my eyes.  They talk SOOO much and it's so cute to listen to their conversations with each other.  I feel like I'm learning so much about them and who they're becoming right now....

Like when given the option to choose her own clothes, Kallie usually puts together some crazy outfits!  Whoever said that a hoodie, a pink tutu skirt over jeans, and rain boots on a perfectly sunny day doesn't work?!!!
She loves Dora...hence the Dora sticker carefully placed on her boots...

Sometimes I think Emma's got the cutest sense of style....

She loves these pink shoes....

Pair them with a little yellow accessory and we're ready for Spring ;)

But then other days, she picks out something like this...
And when I ask her if she's sure she wants to wear a red Minnie shirt-dress with gray sweats that have pink and purple hearts all over them, she replies with, "Yeah, that way I can be cute and comfy!"

Unless it has a Thomas or some type of train on it, Timmy could care less about what he wears.  And I know I'm biased, but I really think he has the cutest fake smile I've EVER seen!  This boy melts my heart!!!

This week has been gorgeous. The kids are constantly asking to play "chalks and bubbles" so we've been spending lots of time in the driveway....

And I've loved watching the kids grow more into their own peer-directed play, rather than mommy-directed play.  Emma drawing Timmy's silhouette...

Now they even direct me what to do.  My view of Emma about to draw my silhouette...

Lamb-chop even had her silhouette drawn (by mommy :)  Kallie thought this was so funny!

And this was my attempt at getting a shot of all three together (I'm trying to get better at this and I'm not sure why it's so hard, but it just is)...in line for hopscotch!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love these crazy kids???  Being a mommy is the hardest, most tiring and challenging job on earth......but it's also THE BEST!!!  Wouldn't trade it for the world!

Mother of the Year!

Man I was in a bad mood yesterday!  And I realized it wasn't going unnoticed when Emma fell and started crying.  I picked her up and told her I was sorry she got hurt.....she looked right back at me and said, "I'm sorry you're yelling a lot today."  It was true...I was yelling a lot...and not that I ever feel like mother of the year, but yesterday I definitely didn't!

Not sure how I could ever be in a bad mood looking at a cute little face like this (especially with a train conductor's hat on)...but glad I'm feeling better today!
Emma...my little Itty-Bitty who tells it like it is :)

Keeping Up

There are lots of things that I can't seem to keep up with these days...

The dishes.

Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.

Vacuuming.

The laundry (especially the laundry...  IT. NEVER. ENDS.).

My kids playing hide-and-go-seek and running in three different directions during our trip to Target a couple days ago :/

And the kids' new obsession....pistachios!  Or "stachios," as they call them.  I can't crack them fast enough!!!

If

If dogs are a man's best friend, and diamonds are a girl's best friend.....then Play-doh is a Mommy's best friend.

I used to be afraid of letting the kids play with it because, well, it makes a mess!  But I have decided that the clean up is worth letting them do anything other than this...

I think Kallie might need glasses...she always wants to sit so close to the TV!  Don't worry, I don't let her stay here.

The kids LOVE play-doh and it entertains them for a good 20 minutes!

The kids also got this....stuff (I can't remember what it's called) for Christmas.  It's similar to play-doh, but little balls that stick together that can be molded into whatever (very scientific explanation, I know).  The kids LOVE playing with it...and I love it because it doesn't dry out!

Sometimes it's still surreal to me that I have triplets...

And that our walls are covered with things like this...LOVE IT!

So basically, that's what we've been up to...lots of crafts and art projects.  I've been trying to be more "present" with the kids (more on that later).  We're missing warmer weather when we could get out more.  But until then...I'm stocking up on Play-doh!
